My MA thesis from Madinah

This is my MA thesis from Madinah, which I completed in 2023. It focused on Ṣafī al-Dīn al-Hindī’s magnum opus in uṣūl al-fiqh, Nihāyah al-Wuṣūl, one of the largest encyclopedic works in the science, spanning 9 volumes. My research examined the legal theory differences (furūq uṣūliyyah) scattered throughout the work.

As for Ṣafī al-Dīn al-Hindī himself, he was a 13th-century Indian scholar who left Delhi 23 years old, reaching Yemen, then Mecca, then Egypt, then spending 11 years in Turkey, and finally settling in Damascus. He is especially remembered for his famous debate with Ibn Taymiyyah on the Masʾalah of al-Ḥamawiyyah, representing the Ashʿarī stance.
